Strategies, programmes, methodologies, laws, regulations, directives, plans and manuals related to climate change, decarbonisation and nature‑based solutions;
During the preparation of a project proposal, the submission of projects to a specific call and the securing of funding — including our own — project managers and other collaborators must consult the strategies and laws that guide a particular area of human activity, with the aim of ensuring a meaningful, data‑supported direction for the development of a community, and of course, a successful project application.
In our case, we list several key strategies, programmes, manuals and laws that influenced the direction of thinking in the preparation of project proposals.
From global to local:
- SDG - Sustainable Development Goals of the UN (especially Goal 11). Transforming cities and regions into vibrant, sustainable and resilient places to live has become a key global priority. This is reflected in numerous policy initiatives at local, regional and national levels. Regeneration of urban areas is a significant priority that must take into account environmental quality, social justice and sustainable development.
- Regulation on the Governance of the Energy Union and Climate Action (EU 2018/1999), including the Paris Agreement (2015), under which countries committed to jointly reduce greenhouse‑gas emissions with the goal of limiting the rise in average global temperature to well below 2°C.
- European Green Deal (COM/2019/640). The guidelines of the European Green Deal respond to these challenges. It is a new growth strategy aimed at transforming the EU into a fair and prosperous society with a modern, resource‑efficient and competitive economy in which there will be no net greenhouse‑gas emissions by 2050 and where economic growth is decoupled from resource use. The EU’s 2030 emission‑reduction target is at least 50% and towards 55% compared to 1990 levels, in a responsible manner.
