University of Zagreb, Faculty of Agriculture
Within the Faculty of Agriculture of the University of Zagreb operates the Department of Ornamental Plants, Landscape Architecture and Garden Art, which originated from the Department of Horticulture founded in 1937. The Department’s mission was to advance national horticulture and promote its branches, which at the time included vegetable production, floriculture, garden dendrology and garden (today landscape) architecture.
For many years, the Department has been achieving significant scientific and professional results in the field of landscape architecture - landscape planning and landscape design (research and professional work related to landscape typology and evaluation; identification of valuable natural and cultural landscapes; green infrastructure; development of protective‑planning methodologies; preparation of landscape‑design projects for all types of open spaces in urban and rural areas; rehabilitation of degraded areas; restoration of historic parks).

The Croatian Association of Landscape Architects is a voluntary, non‑governmental, non‑partisan and non‑profit organisation that works to promote and develop landscape architecture, sustainable spatial planning, preservation and protection of landscapes, nature and the human environment, as well as to raise the quality of life and culture.
