The Zagreb Energy Centre (ZEC), a recently opened multifunctional space in Zagreb, is intended for education, counselling and support for citizens, entrepreneurs and institutions in the fields of energy efficiency, renewable energy sources and climate adaptation.
ZEC serves as a central point for all information, services and digital tools related to the green transition. The focus is on energy renovation of buildings, the use of solar energy, reducing greenhouse‑gas emissions, supporting energy‑poor households and strengthening the resilience of cities to climate change.
At the ZEC premises, located at Maksimirska 51, citizens will have access to free assistance when applying for the installation of a solar power plant, as well as when completing the questionnaire of the Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund for the purpose of applying to the public call for expressions of interest for energy‑poor households. Citizens can also receive support for replacing household heating systems, and within the Energy Poverty Reduction Programme, they will have access to so‑called energy baskets distributed by the City of Zagreb.
The Centre is the first of its kind in Croatia to operate as a One Stop Shop. During their visit to ZEC, citizens will be able to see an information leaflet promoting the project
Activation of Green Courtyards for Carbon Neutrality (ActGREEN).
In addition to promotional purposes, the leaflet provides key information about the project’s goals and activities aimed at encouraging citizens and the local community to green urban spaces. This promotion also fulfils an activity of the ActGREEN project work package WP 3. Sensemaking, Strategic learning and cross‑fertilization // A3.1.6. Climate‑neutral greening hub, phase IV: Digital connectivity, interaction and engagement (City of Zagreb): D3.1.6. ONE‑STOP‑SHOP FOR CLIMATE NEUTRAL, which aims to provide information on climate‑neutral greening strategies.
